Discovering a hiker’s paradise
THE REQUEST
The Province of Biella is criss-crossed by an extensive network of footpaths, which are well-documented by a series of hiking maps. The local transport authority (ATL Biella) requested us to promote awareness of the Grande Traversata del Biellese (Biella Circuit), a circular hiking route of over 230 km, and carry out a GPS survey of the entire hiking network.
OUR SOLUTION
The first phase involved performing a GPS survey of the Grande Traversata del Biellese (GtB) and publishing an accompanying article; as a follow-up, a printed guide to the route was produced in collaboration with Itinerari e Luoghi (“Paths and Places”) magazine.
Subsequently, we completed the survey of the entire hiking network of the Province of Biella, covering over 1000 km of trails and footpaths.
