A promotion App for the brand and self-guided journeys

THE REQUEST

Created in 2014 as an offshoot of ItinerAria, SloWays wanted to increase its visibility in the slow travel sector. At the same time, the company wanted to provide a new orientation tool for “self-guided” travellers.

OUR SOLUTION

Initially, the SloWays App was designed for customers who purchased their travel packages from tour operators, enabling them to load customised itineraries, complete with routes, points of interest and accommodation.
However, we soon recognised the potential the App offered for travellers along the Via Francigena, and this led us to offer the Via Francigena as a “bonus package”, already preloaded on the App. The results were surprising: the App has been downloaded more then 30,000 times over the last two years, and SloWays is rapidly becoming one of the most recognisable brands along the Via Francigena.
